Our Marathon Walk - NTGNR

We have a new fundraising initiative designed to start fund raising in a small way during the Covid 19 lockdown.

Our project is Not the Great North Run - NTGNR - but to walk the distance of a Marathon in just under two hours.

It is a simple and easy task designed to get our members out into the fresh air and doing something for the

community.

The object is to raise money for the Tynedale Hospice at Home (90%) and other Rotary Charities (10%) by 26 Rotarians each walking just over a mile to complete in total the Marathon distance. We have asked each participant to raise at least £25 in sponsorship so in total we hope to raise at least £650.

The event, with careful social distancing, will take place on Tyne Green in Hexham on the afternoon of Sunday 13th September and will be started by Carol Malia of BBC Look North.

If you would like to help, we have a JustGiving page at https://www.justgiving.com/rotary-hexham

This is our first endeavour to raise money during lockdown and we hope to follow it with bigger and bolder schemes in the future.
