Queen Elizabeth High School (QEHS) and Hexham Middle School (HMS) say how we can help.

QEHSKatie Innes (QEHS) and Paul Freeman-Myers (HMS) gave a combined presentation that demonstrated ways that Rotarians could help the schools. The emphasis was on help in choosing and preparing for careers and it was agreed that we would help where we could. The help would be co-ordinated through our Team Leader for Youth - Neill Wylie (youth@hexhamrotary.co.uk) - and various scenarios were described. Slips were handed out so that members could volunteer their expertise.

Activities centered on year 8 for HMS and for later years at QEHS. Particular opportunities would occur at the Careers Fair in HMS on the 9th May and at the QEHS mock interviews on the 12th March. Further possibilities were the QEHS Careers Day on the 3rd July.

It was an interesting talk and we look forward to further developments and co-operation.
