Not the Great North Run - Sunday 13th September 2020

Our project wass Not the Great North Run - NTGNR - but to walk the distance of a Marathon in just under two hours. It was a simple and easy task designed to get our members out into the fresh air and doing something for the community. The object was to raise money for the Tynedale Hospice at Home (90%) and other Rotary Charities (10%) by 26 Rotarians each walking just over a mile to complete in total the Marathon distance. We have asked each participant to raise at least £25 in sponsorship so in total we hope to raise at least £650.

The event, with careful social distancing, took place on Tyne Green in Hexham on the afternoon of Sunday 13th September and was started byCarol Malia of BBC Look North. This was our first endeavour to raise money during lockdown and was a great success as we raised over £2000.
